Prahalad are only some of the many who contributed to this magnificent source of knowledge, and it was on the pages of the HBR that concepts such as "balanced scorecards", "core competencies" or "glass ceiling" were first discussed and gained prominence. Spud Fast-Food Project

September 2nd, 2008
Webster Entrepreneurs management team (Navid Sigari-Majd and Dragan Sormaz) have run a test-phase for the fast-food brand called "SPUD." The project was supported by Student council volunteers (Patricia Roman, Natia Apkhadiza, Anna Krainova, Philip Niklisch, Nanu Sichiniva) and lasted three days.

Our team has developed a brand name called “SPUD” (slang word for potato). The main concept of the fast-food restaurant is to specialize in one single product, in this case a potato (to be precise: mashed potato).

The project was further supported though guerilla marketing: Different catch-phrases (such as "Spud me") were advertised throughout the entire Webster campus in a teaser-campaign for the new product, before finally unveiling it a couple days later.

In only 13 hours, our team sold over 55 kg of potatoes (or 120 pieces of "SPUD").
